- Infuze has a double treat for fans today.  First off an interview with writer Chris Well (Forgiving Solomon Long and Studio Well Comics).  Also, the first big sneak peek of National Fiction's new Christian comic "Fury, Nevada."  Read the first 10 pages there before its big debut in comic shops!  And let me tell you, that's about the coolest opening to a new series that I've read.  I've always been a big fan of Chuck Dixon and he definitly doesn't disappoint here! Go to www.infuzemag.com!

-I came across an old article from the Chicago Sun Times about the Christian comic summit held last summer.  Go to http://www.suntimes.com/output/falsani/cst-nws-fals09.html to read the story.  It's really interesting.

January 18, 2005
-Christian comic artist, and all around good guy, Chris Well has a new novel called "Forgiving Solomon Long."  In Well's own words, here is what the book is about:  "A hit man is haunted by a preacher's dying words:  "I forgive you."  "Forgiving Solomon Long" (Harvest House Publishers) is a crime thriller populated by thugs who argue about Broadway musicals, a germophobic hit man, a crime boss who pulls a King Lear, and a cop more worried about getting the bad guys than in saving his own marriage."   The novel is now available at Border's Books and soon at Barnes and Noble.

January 14, 2005
- WHO LET THE DOG OUT??????  SAM 119 did, that's who!  Okay, before you say "Ed, you're one scoop shy of a rootbeer float." let me explain.  The BIG second issue of SAM 119  is available for order.  Check out http://www.sam119.co.uk/ for more info.  And it features the big debut of Eric Merced's DOG SAINT!  Woof!

- Jamie Cosley's new comic "Jack and Jack" is now available from Blindwolf studios.  Go to www.blindwolfstudios.com and click on "other comics."

January 13, 2005
- I just read over the premiere issue of John Martin's TRI-LIGHT Zone, a new Christian comic anthology.  It was a decent read and I can see a lot of potential in future issues.  Doug McClain's art shows a lot of promise.  And those familiar with Jaems Sutherland's work in the Megazeen will be happy to see his work in a one page strip.  Jaems continues to grow as an artist.  I'd recommend you get yourself over to the Tri-Light Zone website and order yourself a copy of #1 for $5.00 shipped.  I hear copies are going fast!!! You can find the link to their site on our LINKS page.

-"Two Bits" comes out today from Image Comics.  So what's so significant you say?  Well, for a mere quarter you can get a sampling of Ben Avery's 2 new comics "The Imaginaries" and "Lullaby."  Can beat that!

December 16th, 2004   (Lots of news this week)
-Mike Miller, artist of such hits as GI Joe vs Transformers and JLA, has begun a new imprint called Alias Entertainment (no relation to Sydney Bristow).  According to Sherwin Shwartzrock, Alias will be publishing several of the Community comics such as Chosen Mortals, Messiah and others.  And with the quality of work Mike usually expects from his guys, expect these books to be a hit!

-Also, in case you missed it in the pages of the Comic Book Digest, Deal with the Devil will be released again under the Alias imprint.  And the cool thing is, it will have an awesome promotional cover price of 75 cents!

-David's Mighty Men will be coming to print soon in a graphic novel format that will include issues 1 and 2 (so those of you scrounging to find the rare copy of #1...rest at ease).

-Check out www.kandorapublishing.com to see the companies new releases for next year.  Although Kandora isn't a blatantly Christian magazine, their stories will have Biblical triths woven throughout.  Hey, with Brian (Out There) Augustyn writing the books, it's a can't miss!

-Buford the Duckling #3 will be put on the back burner until I can get ahead on the other 2 comic projects I've been asked to work on.  These two books will be a real treat for fans of Christian comics and I'm happy to be a part of them (more info to follow).

-Tri-Light Zone #1 is available for order at www.geocities.com/t-lightzone for $5.00.  Scope it out!  They promise readers "Christian comics with a twist!"

- I'm Back!!!  Well, the honeymoon is over.  We had a great summer, but all the fun and games are over.  Time to get back to giving you all some weekly updates.  Not much to report since I've been out of the loop, but here it goes.  Ruckus #2 is coming real soon, and we already have people cranking out pages for #3, so hopefully things will get back on schedule.  Buford the Duckling #3 is also in the pencilling stages.  Also, check back for details about a pretty cool comic project I've been asked to do.

-Also, my brother is working on getting the store set up.  Hopefully in the next month or so, you'll be able to purchase Christian comics from us (several dozen to choose from).

May 17th, 2004
-Fellow Christian comic artist, Sherwin Shwartzrock, has been a busy man.  He is currently working on two awesome-looking projects.  The first is "Armor Quest" from Community Comics (written by my good bud, Ben Avery).  A preview can be seen at http://communitycomics.com/cc_a2_dt_armorquest/index.html.
Second, he'll be lending his artistic talents to the book "Deal with the Devil" written by Mike (GI Joe vs Transformers) Miller.  The book is being produced by the Dabel Brothers who produced "The Hedge Knight" for Image Comics. A preview can be seen at http://www.dabelbrothers.com/dealwiththedevil/dealdevil.php.

May 5th, 2004
-EXACTLY ONE MONTH AWAY FROM MY WEDDING!  Man, I'm excited.  Can't wait for the honeymoon either! ;)  But, all the last minute wedding stuff won't slow me down.  Buford the Duckling #3 is tentatively scheduled to be back from the printers the first week of June (key word is "tentatively").

-Buford #2 has been ready for ordering for a week now, but I'm hesitant to take orders just yet because Ruckus #2 should be arriving any day.  So, if you'd like to save on shipping, please wait a few more days until you order Buford #2.

-I'll be setting up the on-line store in the summer.  It'll have a whole bunch of Christian comics available for sell, as well as a few other items.  Expect to see at least 50 different comics to choose from.

-Sad news...we will be losing Lisa Hutchinson's "Shelter of Wings" in the pages of Ruckus after #2.  Good news...Makar Studios will begin publishing "SOW" in full color and standard comic size.  Lisa has been like a big sis to me in the Christian comic biz.  Her encouraging words and prayers helped carry Ruckus through some tough early stages, and for that, I'll always be grateful.  We'll miss seeing her around the pages of Ruckus but at the same time are thankful that her vision of what she wanted "SOW" to be has become a reality.  You can read more about it at www.shelterofwings.com and www.makarstudios.com.  God bless, Lisa.  Don't be a stranger!

-Order a copy now of Riot Gear's new Christian manga "The Way."  I chatted with Tucker Fitzgerald (Riot's head honcho) and he said that the comic will be shipping out late March or earlier.  But don't wait for the last minute rush!  Head over to www.riotgearcomics.com to order.

March 5th, 2004
-If you're not reading Makar Studios' Christian comics, you're missing out on some cool stuff.  I just got "The Minister" #0 and "733" #0 yesterday and was really impressed with the production quality and action.  Both were really entertaining and is making me anxious for the serie's kick-offs later this month!  All three Makar titles "The Minister", "733" and "Guns and Glory" begin regular on-going series in March (and in full color, no less).  So keep checking back for the official release announcement at www.makarstudios.com.  If you can't wait, go buy the zero issues at the Megazeen (www.megazeenonline.com).

-Kingdom Comic's new release "Pledge of Allegiance" is now available to order through the Megazeen's website.  Written by Henry Chmielefski and drawn by Veli Loponen, "Pledge" will be an on-going series released every three months.  This is a spin-off of Veli's and Brian Bradley's popular "The Lucifer Chronicles" and is presented, not only in full comic book size, but also full color from front to back.  And all this for a measly $1.25 plus 75 cents shipping!  HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!  "Pledge" is part of Kingdom's comic-a-month plan in which they plan to publish a new comic every month.  Rotation will include Henry and Veli's "PoA", Bradley's "Anointed 7" and Wil Hartman's "Kid Commandos" each being released every three months.  Imagine....Christian comics on a regular basis!  Who'd a thunk it?!

-For you manga freaks (you know who you are), Anime Angels #1 is available for purchase through their website www.animeangels.net.  This first issue is available in printed comic format, on CD-ROM or as a downloadable PDF file.  It includes many great manga shorts (stories, not clothing) including some familiar faces from Ruckus like Ann Neko and Lisa Hutchinson.  It also includes work by Lynn "Chibi" Bradley, Nikole Jones and more!

-In case you happen to wander into a Family Bookstore, check out their teen and kid sections.  I found two cool Christian comic graphic novels the other day. "!Hero" is a thick graphic novel adaptation of the Christian rock opera of the same name and retails for $9.99 and "Sampson", another graphic novel by Metron Press and retails for $7.95.  Check them both out!

-Ruckus #2 is just days away from release and you can feel the excitiment rising!  Issue 2 will sport an awesome cover by fan favorite, Psycho Ann Neko.  Believe me, the cover will blow you away!  But it doesn't end there!  Inside you'll find chapter 2 of Ann's Paladin: Quest Aquarius, with lots of crazy manga action (not for the faint of heart)!  Part one of a new prequel story of Lisa Hutchinson's Shelter of Wings (more crazy manga action).  Cartooning genius, Jamie Cosley gives us a flashback story of Buford the Duckling.  Also chapter 2 of "Stick to the Shadows" by Eddie Medina.  Jeremy Zehr will keep you laughing with his article "In the Crosshairs" wherein he reports about his little trip to Wizard World East.  Bud Rogers tempts our tastebuds with a new Awesomedude strip.  George Macas gives sage-advice in his second article "Flashback."  Plus reviews of Kingdom Comics' "Lucifer Chronicles" and the inside scoop to upcoming projects from Makar Studios!  Plus much more!  Check back here for the release date or sign up for our email newsletter!
